Carolyn Murray

Carolyn J. Murray, age 61, of Cambridge, MD, died January 31, 2010 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake, in Salisbury, MD after a lengthy illness.

Born on August 8, 1948 in Cambridge, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. Todd and Gloria June Dean Todd.

Carolyn was a member of the Class of 1966, Cambridge High School.

She had moved to Minnesota and then to San Antonio, Texas and the returned to Cambridge.

On November 29, 1982 she married Richard W. “Rick” Murray of Cambridge.

Carolyn had worked at the Stonehouse Bar in Crapo, MD and proudly became the owner in 2002 changing the name to Carolyn’s Stonehouse.

She loved her work and enjoyed her patrons and friends. Carolyn loved people in general, especially her family and friends. She was a very proud aunt to her nieces and nephews, thoroughly willing to spoil them any chance she got where was affectionately known to them as “Ca-Ca”.

A kid at heart, Carolyn was a huge fan of Mickey Mouse and Betty Boop. She liked crossword puzzles and playing solitaire on the computer.

Carolyn had a knack and concerning eye for the restoration of her historic home on Oakley Street which beautifully displays her special flare.

Surviving is her husband of 27 years, Rick Murray of Cambridge, MD; four sisters Linda Dawson and her husband Dickie of Bishops Head, MD, Christine Barlow and her husband Ernie of Cambridge, MD, Gloria Martinetti of Cambridge, MD, and Sherri Todd of Clearwater, FL; a brother Charles W. Todd and his wife Cheryl of Vienna, MD; brother-in-law Buddy Malone of Cambridge, MD; aunts and uncles Isabel Phillips of Salem, Patricia Hurley of East New Market, MD, Betty Jean Jones of Salem, Eunice Baker of Ocean City, MD, Delores Petillo of Delmar, MD; nieces and nephews Buddy Malone and his wife Cindy, Rhonda Wyskiel and her husband Rich, Michelle Hughes and her husband Bo, Andy Dawson and his wife Shea, Zeb Barlow, Scott Martinetti, Terese Martinetti, David Reid, Sherri Ann Todd, Amy Lea Todd and Michelle Todd; great nieces and great-nephews Connor Wyskiel, Carson Wyskiel, Carley Malone, Madison Watkins, Will Watkins, Sidney Hughes and Drew Dawson; numerous cousins; special caregivers Linda Dawson and Shea Dawson; several friends including a special friend Chris Fraley of Pasadena, MD.

Preceding her in death besides her parents was her infant son Eric Larsen from a previous marriage; a sister Charlotte June Malone; seven aunts Mary Ann Foxwell, Dorothy Dunnock Matthews, Elizabeth Lyons, Grace Harvey, Libby Simmons, Josephine Brinsfield and Frances Wrightson; and two uncles Wilbert Dean and Insley Todd.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6th at Salem United Methodist Church with The Rev. Mary Ann Farnell, Pastor officiating. Inurnment will be held privately.
