Alice S. Foxwell, 83, of Cambridge passed away peacefully at her home early Friday, March 3, 2017 with her husband and family by her side.
Born July 10, 1933 at the Eastern Shore Hospital, where her father Willard took care of the farm and milked the cows. She was the daughter of the late Elessa Fouth Westbrook and Willard Ward Schuyler. After her education she went on to enjoy a career in healthcare as a nurse at Dorchester General Hospital. Alice retired with better than 25 years of service in the Maternity Ward and the Emergency Room.
Alice really loved her dogs. She also enjoyed being a housewife. She was an excellent cook and loved gardening. She took great pride in the appearance of her flower beds and her house in general. The same pride carried on to her appearance. She was always dressed to a tee with her hair styled to perfection. Alice’s greatest love was for her family and her church. She had a special love for her grandchildren. Her many friends from her church of over 42 years she also considered family. All will miss her compassionate and loving manner.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers that provided such wonderful loving care to Alice during her recent decline in health.
Surviving is her husband of over 41 years, Wendell O. Foxwell; sons Melvin “Zeke” Willey and wife Gloria Creighton, Robert “Bobby” Willey and wife Judy, William “Billy” Willey and wife Terri; step-children Stephen Foxwell and Kathy Chipouras and husband Lou; sister Jessie Dolinger; grandchildren Heather Powell and husband Chris, Shannon Willey, Ryan Willey and wife Jill Wilde, Sean Willey; step-grandchildren Josuha, Jeremiah, David and Daniel Foxwell; great grandchildren, Gavin, Morgan, Hayden, Parker, Tucker, Helena, Oliver, Leon; along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
