Alice M. Robbins, 83, of Cambridge passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Mallard Bay Care Center, Cambridge.
She was born in Cambridge, MD on February 2, 1930, the daughter of the late Georgia Sherman and Edward Meredith
After graduating from high school she attended James Madison University with a degree as a Dietician.
On February 17, 1961 Alice and Vernon Robbins were united in marriage. For most of her life she was a homemaker. Her beloved husband Vernon passed away Dec. 31, 1999.
Alice had a passion for reading and was an avid book enthusiast. She also loved playing bridge and taught many people the art of the game. Going on cruises with family and friends was a highlight in her life but most of all she treasured making memories with her family. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Cambridge.
Surviving is a daughter Susan Monaghan and husband Samuel of Cambridge; grandchildren Aliza Graham of Cambridge and Eli Graham of Baltimore; companion and friend Shirley Addison; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband is a daughter Sharon Robbins Fick.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, September 16, 2013 from 6 till 8 p.m. at the Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge.
A private graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Dorchester Memorial Park. Officiating the service will be Pastor Shirley Addison.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Alice can be made to Cambridge Rotary Community Service Foundation Inc., Long Wharf Fountain Project Fund, P.O. Box 703, Cambridge, MD 21613.
