ALVIA MEEKINS, JR.
Alvia Meekins, Jr. age 46, of Cambridge, MD, died early Monday morning, April 11, 2011 at University of Maryland Hospital.
Born on May 22, 1964 in Cambridge, MD, he was the son of the late Alvin Meekins and Frances Lewis Meekins.
Alvia was a graduate of Cambridge South Dorchester High School, Class of 1982.
Alvia enjoyed crafts. He liked to carve boats and animal figurines.
Surviving are two sisters Irmalee Loggins of SC, Helen Hubbard and her husband Allen of Cambridge; a special friend Patty Ekstrom of AR; three nephews Jonathan Meekins and his wife Stacy, Willie Loggins and Michael Loggins; a niece Misty Hubbard; three great-nephews DJ Loggins, Scottie Meekins, Logan Meekins; a great-niece Trinity Meekins; and his faithful friendly cat Gizmo.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14th at The Salvation Army Church, 200 Washington St., Cambridge, officiated by Major Lori Gilliam.
Memorial offerings may be made in Alvia’s memory to The Salvation Army, 200 Washington St., Cambridge, MD 21613.
