BETTY L. DAYTON
Betty Lyons Dayton, age 84, of Cambridge, MD passed away Monday, September 22, 2008 at Dorchester General Hospital.
Born July 18, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Fred Lyons and Irene Lauck Lyons.
Mrs. Dayton lived her entire life on the Eastern Shore. She graduated from East New Market High School. After high school she worked at the Rob Roy plant on Race Street in Cambridge. In 1956 she married Raymond Dayton. They owned & operated Dayton’s Restaurant on Race St in Cambridge, and later moved to Ocean City where they owned & operated Dayton’s Chicken House Restaurant on the Boardwalk. She retired in the mid 1970’s.
She is survived by two sons, Fred Dayton and Peck Dean & wife Kathie, of Cambridge; a brother Col. Robert Lyons of East New Market; a grandson, Fred Dayton, Jr. of Baltimore, two granddaughters, April Whitacre of Royal Oak and Laurie Cannon of Cambridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Dayton.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
