Carolyn Hurley

Carolyn Virginia Hurley, 70, of Cambridge passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013 at PRMC Salisbury, Maryland with her loving family at her side.
Born in Cambridge on August 26, 1942 she was a daughter of the late Aileen Virginia Fitzhugh and William Raymond Condon. She attended the local schools in the area. She became the bride of James R. Hurley, Sr. on December 3, 1965. They enjoyed over 45 years of marriage until his passing March 5, 2011.
For most of her life Carolyn was a housewife. She and her husband had attended Open Bible Church. Her kids and grandchildren were of most importance to her and brought her the greatest joy. She was as much a mother to the grandchildren as any mother could be. An avid animal lover, no cat would go hungry while Carolyn was around. Many stray cats found a home at Carolyn’s. She was known for her kind heart, always helping others around the neighborhood and loving every minute of it.
Carolyn is survived by her children Carol Ann Dunn and husband Tim, William (Billy) Wilson and wife Darci, and James R. Hurley, Jr. all of Cambridge; sisters Chris Donovan and husband Toby of East New Market and Faye Bell and husband Ronnie of Hurlock; grandchildren April Mongan and husband Matthew, Lindsey Wilson, Lauren Hurley, James Hurley and Hailey Hurley; great- grand children Miles and Marcus Mongan and a number of close friends and relatives.
A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, July 29, 2013 beginning 3 p.m. at East New Market Cemetery. Officiating the services will be the Rev. David Wooten, Jr.
Donations in the memory of Carolyn can be made to the Kitty City Rescue, P.O. Box 1259, Cambridge, MD, 21613.
