Charles C, “Chuck” Brooks, Sr., 84, of Cambridge passed away Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Mallard Bay Care Center, Cambridge.
Born in Cambridge June 24, 1928, Chuck was the son of the late Robert Lee and Claudia Casten Brooks. He attended local schools and graduated from Cambridge High School. For over twenty years he worked in security for Coldwater Seafood retiring in 1992.
Charles married the former Ann Marie Brown July 3, 1950. They were members of Grace United Methodist Church. Ann Marie passed away December 31, 2007.
Chuck was an avid Oriole fan, enjoyed NASCAR racing and a good cigar. He will be remembered for his colorful speech, humor and fondness of family, friends, and his church.
Surviving is his son, Charles C. Brooks, Jr. of Cambridge; a sister Eunice Miller also of Cambridge; sister in law Dot Bramble and husband Charles; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and his cat “Old T.C.”.
Preceding him in death besides his parents and wife was his infant son, John Charles Brooks; two brothers Wallace and Robert; and a sister Barbara Newcomb along with her son and beloved nephew Glen Newcomb.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home P.A., Cambridge beginning 1 p.m. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service. Officiating will be the Rev. Doug Ridley.
Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park, Cambridge Maryland.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Smith, Al Cire, Kemp Brooks, Scott Schilling, Anthony Tangiers, and C.R. Bramble.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Fitzhugh, Hubert Trego, Robert Condon, Jesse Hurley and Ronnie Richardson.
