Cindy Lou Newcomb (Lou Lou), beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away at Talbot Hospice on September 17 2024, with her greatest treasure by her side. She was 67.
Born on November 3, 1956 she was the daughter of the late Shirley Elizabeth Moore and Paul Mowbray Wingate. She attended local schools in Cambridge before attending South Dorchester High for her junior and senior years.
Professionally, Cindy served as an administrative assistant for Bill Strawn Automotive and later for Mike Schaffer at Schaffer and Strominger Auto Group. Her dedication and work ethic were evident in all her endeavors.
Throughout her life Cindy’s greatest love was for her family, which was evident to all who knew her. Her love was boundless and always without judgment. Where others were quick to anger, she would seek understanding. She found immense joy in her role as a caregiver and nurturer, leaving a lasting impact on her daughter Melissa Newcomb and her grandchildren.
Cindy had a profound love for old paper, which inspired her to create stunning mixed media collages that reflected her artistic spirit. Her creativity was matched only by her enthusiasm for Halloween, a holiday she cherished and celebrated with great joy.
Lou Lou was a collage of beauty, arranged with gentle elegance. Like the art she so carefully crafted, she was a masterpiece. While she will be so dearly missed, her memories will hang like a mural to provide those who loved her with eternal peace and comfort.
Lou Lou will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the love she shared with her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and artistic expression that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Besides her daughter Melissa, Cindy is survived by her granddaughters Stella Jane Thomas and Madeline Reed Thomas; brother Randy H. Wingate; sister Tammy Brooks and husband Kenny along with numerous cousins and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 beginning 2:00 pm at Old Trinity Church Cemetery with Pastor Steve Bloodsworth officiating. Interment will follow.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Talbot Hospice .
