Cynthia Ann “Cindy” Baker
Cynthia Ann “Cindy” Baker, age 54, of Cambridge, MD, died Christmas Day, December 25, 2008 at home.
Born on June 3, 1954 in Cambridge, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harvey R. Travers and June F. Christopher Travers.
Cindy was a graduate of Cambridge High School, Class of 1972. Following graduation, she achieved her accreditation becoming an LPN (licensed practical nurse).
Cindy had worked at Dorchester General Hospital and various doctors offices. For most of her nursing career she was a traveling home health care nurse.
In June of 2007 she ceased work due to health reasons. While her health permitted, Cindy enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, gardening, cooking and baking.
Surviving is her son Christopher R. Baker of Cambridge, MD; cousins Carol Perry (Pete), Wanda Hurley (Richard), James Valliant, Shelly Collins, Terry Stewart, Robin Rohner, Tina Newnam (David), Shawn Edger, April Edger, Kim James (Eddie), Caitlin Hicks; special friend Lois Baker; and her dog Tico.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were maternal grandparents James and Mary Ida Christopher and paternal grandmother Naomi Ewell.
Graveside services will be held at Dorchester Memorial Park on Saturday, January 3rd at 11:00 a.m. Officiating at the service will be The Rev. Thomas W. Hurley.
