Darcy M. Harding, Sr., 88, of Cambridge, Maryland died Saturday morning, June 24, 2023 at his home with his family at his side.
He was born on November 8, 1934 in Cambridge, Maryland to the late Darcy McBride Harding and Anita Hubbard Harding.
On June 15, 1954, Darcy married the former Joyce Nielsen. Joyce died April 18, 2017.
Darcy was an electrician and farmer. He enjoyed wood-working and playing his Pedal Steel Guitar. In his younger years he was back-up for artist Jimmy Dean and Patsy Cline at the Washington D. C. Coliseum. He later made an album with Shelley Abbott called Crystal Blue.
He is survived by his children Darcy M. Harding, Jr. and wife Judy, Lorin J. Stewart and husband Joe and Samuel Lee Harding and wife Elizabeth; grandchildren David Stewart , Patti Hubbard, Brian Stewart, Jessie Stewart, Joseph DeSaulniers, Devon DeSaulniers, Michael Harding, Tyler Stewart, Daniella Harding; great grandchildren Ian Stewart, Hailey Hubbard, Todd, Ethan, Luke, Mason and Mary Joyce Stewart; a brother Reese Harding.
Preceding him in his death besides his parents and wife Joyce was a son Larry Lesley Harding and a daughter Joy Anne Harding.
Darcy will be laid to rest at a private graveside service in the Harding Family Cemetery.
