DAVID LEDNUM

David Charles Lednum, age 10, of Cambridge, MD, died early Thursday morning, January 17, 2008 as a result of being struck by a vehicle while awaiting his school bus in Cambridge.

Born on May 15, 1997 in Cambridge, MD, he was the son of David Robert Lednum and Leah Jeanine Woodward Lednum.

David was a typical young boy who liked video games such as X Box and Wii. He liked animals, liked to fish, crab, swimming and anything to do with the water. He liked music, singing and playing air guitar. David belonged to the Boy Scouts of America Troup 209 and just received his first set of pins and badges. He was looking forward to playing Cambridge Little League Baseball this season.

David was in the fifth grade at Maple Elementary School, Cambridge.

Surviving besides his parents David and Leah is his sister Rachel Lednum, all of Cambridge, MD, paternal grandmother Nancy Stafford of Federalsburg, MD, step-brother Andrew Rayvon of Massachusetts, aunts and uncles Debbie and Danny Johnson of Ellendale, DE, Kathy and Dale Humphries of Hurlock, MD, Tami and Victor Beecher of St. Michaels, MD, Michael Lednum of Federalsburg, MD, Charles Lednum of Carol County, MD, Lisa and Ricky Willey of Woolford, MD, a niece Lilliana Rayvon, several cousins and friends.

Preceding him in death was his paternal grandfather Charles Howard Lednum and maternal grandparents Catherine and John Bell.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 21st from Noon to 2 pm at The Church of the Nazarene, Hambrooks Blvd and Sandy Hill Road, Cambridge, where the funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Officiating at the service will be The Rev. Richard K. Prahl, Pastor. Interment will follow at Old Trinity Church Cemetery, Church Creek, MD.

Pallbearers will be Leah Lednum, John Worth, Joshua Worth, James Andrews, David Andrews, Jr., Ricky Willey and Ryan Humphries.

Memorial offerings may be made to the David C. Lednum Memorial Fund, c/o P.O. Box 504, Cambridge, MD 21613.
