Donna Marie Powley, 55, of Cambridge passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at UMSMC at Dorchester.
Born January 4, 1960 she was a daughter of the late Marion Virginia Windsor Powley and Robert Edward Powley. She grew up in Wingate and attended elementary school at Crapo. As a young teen she worked during the summers with her mother at Dorchester Crab Company for the late Spark Woodland. She graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester with the class of 1978.
For a number of years Donna was a self employed day care provider. She loved children and enjoyed helping others. Although she had a fondness for cats her beloved dachshund Crystal stole her heart.
Surviving is a daughter Shannon Lee Powley of Cambridge; sons Patrick Richard Bullen, Jr. and wife J.J. of Eldorado, Robert Willis Bullen of Cambridge; grandchildren Leah Ambrus of Cambridge, Patrick R. Bullen III, Robert J. Bullen, Logan L. Bullen, all of Eldorado, sister Delores Renehan and husband John of Eldorado; uncles Vernon O'Neil Windsor, William H. "Snooks" Windsor and wife Doris Jean; niece Bobbie Ann Renehan; nephew John Renehan III; special friend and father of Shannon, John David Owens, along with several cousins.
Also surviving are close friends Susan Niblett Phillips of Cambridge, Rob Wroten and wife Joyce of Trappe, Carolyn Schollisan Ostuni of Indiana, Jacqueline M. Clark of Secretary, Judy Van Curren of Cambridge, Lisa Fretz of Hurlock, Billy Wingate and Shawn Foxwell of Cambridge, other children she thought a lot of and her friends at New Horizon Apartments where she resided the past three years.
Preceding her in death besides her parents are paternal grandparents Risdon A. Powley and his wife Bertha Lou Pritchett-Powley; maternal grandparents Capt. Willis J. Windsor, Sr. and his wife Mildred Elizabeth Tawes-Windsor; aunts Mary Belle Windsor-Causey, Reba Mae Windsor-Disharoon, Elizabeth Doris Pritchett; uncles Edward Lee Windsor, Charles T. Turner, Sr., Willis Cleveland "Sonny" Windsor, Sr., Willis Jester "Buster" Windsor, Jr., Robert Ronald "Rooster" Windsor, William Franklin Windsor, Sr. and a special cousin William Herman “Billy” Windsor.
In keeping with Donna's wishes there will be no services.
The family has requested memorial donations in memory of Donna to be made to Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., 308 High Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 to defray expenses.
