Edgar A. “Ed” Ruark, 88, of Church Creek passed away early Friday, October 12, 2018 at UMSMC at Easton. Born March 4, 1930, he was the son of the late Lena Landon and Edgar Ruark.
After attending the local schools Ed enlisted with the US Marines and proudly served his country from 1947 till being honorably discharged in 1950.
Ed returned to Dorchester County and began his career as a licensed plumber. He also worked at Eastern Shore Hospital Center and Maryland Wire Belts.
Ed was a member of the Cambridge Wesleyan Church.
After retirement Ed enjoyed fishing, cutting grass and working on lawnmowers. He and his wife Rose, the former Rose Parks, also enjoyed eating out and socializing with friends and locals at area establishments.
Surviving besides his wife Rose is a daughter Wanda Elzey (David); grandchildren David Elzey (Kim) and Kim Turner (Chris); great-grandchildren Savannah Elzey, Chloe Turner and Macy Turner; nephew Kirk Collins along with cousins and numerous friends.
Preceding him in death besides his parents is his sister Betty Lee Collins and nephew Alan Sparks.
A private visitation and celebration of life was held at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A. with Pastor Jack Diehl and Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. officiating.
