ELIZABETH RUSSELL KREWSON
Elizabeth Russell “Betsy” Krewson, age 85, a former Cambridge resident, presently of Easton, MD died Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Memorial Hospital at Easton. She had been a resident at William Hill Manor for the past three and a half years.
Born on May 8, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. Russell and Alice Asnip Russell.
Mrs. Krewson was a graduate of Friends Select School and the University of Pennsylvania where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.
In 1947 she married Frank Robert Krewson, Jr. He died on October 14, 1990.
Mrs. Krewson was a kindergarten teacher for the city of Philadelphia. In December of 1960 she and her family moved from Lancaster, PA to Cambridge, MD. Mrs. Krewson taught kindergarten at St. Claire Elementary School for several years.
Mrs. Krewson was a devoted communicant of Christ Episcopal Church, Cambridge. She served on the Altar Guild, Children’s Home Foundation, Episcopal Church Women (ECW) and the Vestry.
Mrs. Krewson was a member of the Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary, Cambridge Yacht Club and Cambridge Country Club.
Surviving is son and daughter-in-law Bob and Sherry Krewson; a daughter Ann K. Willey; four grandchildren Benjamin C. Krewson and his wife Kristi, all of Cambridge, MD, Joseph R. Krewson and his companion Roxanne Willey of Easton, MD, Jason L. Willey and his wife Angel of Denton, MD, Erin E. Pick and her husband Zachary of San Clemente, CA; two great-grandchildren Kyler Krewson and Caleb Krewson.
Funeral Service with Holy Eucharist will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19th at Christ Episcopal Church, Church and High Streets, Cambridge, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Officiating at the service will be The Rev. Michael D. Reddig, Rector. Inurnment will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard, Church Creek, MD.
