Ella Jones

Ella Ruth Jones, 85, of Cambridge passed away Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the UMSMC at Dorchester.
Born January 26, 1929 in Preston, MD, she was a daughter of the late Orland Thomas and Ruth Price Jones.
Ella attended local schools and later in life married Walter Donald Jones. Mr. Jones passed away in 1988.
She was a 35 year member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Ruth Circle.
Ella enjoyed taking care of people. Her home was considered a "Safe Haven", she was always there to help anyone in need. Ella and her sister Margaret would take care of their younger siblings when their parents were busy. She took great pride in being a caregiver and continued this through her entire life. When her parents died she made sure the family stayed together, she was the "glue" of the family. She also had a love for dogs, especially her Huskie, Raven.
Surviving her is a son John Robbins of Cambridge; two sisters Betty Bell and her husband Norman of Cambridge, Sara Sheets of Cambridge; two brothers James Jones and his wife Diane and Howard Jones of Cambridge; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband is a sister Margaret Thorton and a brother Orland Thomas, Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 10, 2014 beginning 1 p.m. at the Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge. Family will receive friends the hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park, Cambridge. Officiating will be Pastor Christina Blake.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Jones, Howard Jones, Kenny Gleockler, Wayne Robbins, Kyle Jones and Norman Bell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Ella can be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD. 21613.
