ELLSWORTH C. BLACKBURN
Ellsworth Carlyle Blackburn, age 88, of Cambridge, MD, died Wednesday morning, April 30, 2008 at Chesapeake Woods Center, Cambridge, MD.
Mr. Blackburn was born in Baltimore, MD on February 26, 1920. In the late 1950’s he founded Prestige Draperies of Silver Spring, MD. In 1967 the business expanded and his wife, the late Evelyn Seabrease Blackburn, worked with him as vice president. In January of 1987 the Blackburn’s sold the business and retired to Twin Point Cove Road, making Cambridge their residency.
Mr. Blackburn was a member of the American Legion Post #91.
On October 1, 2000, his wife Evelyn Seabrease Blackburn passed away.
Surviving is a son Dennis Carlyle Blackburn and his wife Linda of Silver Spring, MD; three grandchildren Karen Suzanne Kochersberger and her husband Charlie of Hagerstown, MD, Amy Jill Blackburn-Sommers and her husband Lee of Germantown, MD, David John Skisano of Owings Mills, MD; a great-grandson Jacob Kochersberger; sister-in-law Bridget Seabrease of Cambridge, MD; nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his wife and parents was a sister and brother-in-law Kay and Cliff Cahall and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Stanley Seabrease, Henry and Annie Seabrease.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 4th at 1:00 p.m. at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Officiating at the service will be The Rev. Randall Blackmon. Inurnment will be held privately.
