Eugene W. Tolley, Jr., 49, of Galestown passed away at his home early Easter morning, April 5, 2015.
Born January 2, 1966 in Cambridge, he was the elder son of Shirley Pritchett Tolley and Eugene W. Tolley, Sr.
Gene grew up in Toddville and at an early age began working on the water with his father in between attending the local schools. He graduated from CSDHS top of his class in auto mechanics which was his life long love. Because of his automotive training background B.J. Linthicum’s hired Gene directly from high school and he worked there for several years. He also was an automotive technician for Easton Ford and Fred Fredrick in Easton before opening his own mechanic shop. Through the years he also held several second jobs as assistant manager at Bay Cinema Theatre and the family’s restaurant business.
In his spare time Gene enjoyed the eastern shore lifestyle fishing, crabbing, canoeing and camping with his family. He will be missed by family and friends alike.
Surviving besides his parents are his sons William Cody Tolley and Koby Alan Tolley of Galestown; sister Linda M. Marshall and husband Bill of Hudson; brother Michael P. Tolley of Cambridge; three nices Casey M. Marshall, Megan E. Marshall of Hudson and Taylor L. Tolley of Toddville; two nephews Billy Marshall of Cambridge and Michael P. Tolley of Pa.; one aunt Irene Seigfried of Ocean City.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 12, 2015 beginning 2:00 p.m. at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge. Officiating will be Rev. David J. Wooten, Jr.. The family will receive friends from noon till the service. A committal service will be held Monday, April 13, 2015 beginning 2:00 p.m. at Dorchester Memorial Park. Interment will follow.
Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Tolley, Bill Marshall, Billy Marshall, Robert Reed, Jody LeCompte, Jerome Travers, Cleon Smith and Kevin Jenkins.
Memorial donations in memory of Gene can be made to Pleasant Day Adult Day Care Center, 2474 Cambridge Beltway, Cambridge, MD 21613 or Galestown Community Center.
