Evelyn Doris Wolfert

Evelyn D. Wolfert, 92, of Cambridge passed away peacefully in her sleep at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Chesapeake Woods on Thursday, July 14, 2022.

Born in Philadelphia on March 4, 1930 Evelyn was a daughter of the late Ida F. Hendrixson and Harry Berry. After attending the local schools in the area she married her husband Paul W. Wolfert in December of 1949. They lived in Philadelphia where Evelyn worked as an office manager in Healthcare and Paul as a police officer.

In 1985 they relocated to Cambridge. Evelyn opened a brass shop for a few years and then worked as an office manager for a local realtor in Easton. Evelyn was always very involved with the Daughters of the American Revolution in Philadelphia and as an official in the Maryland Chapter.

Evelyn enjoyed traveling, gardening, quilting and was an excellent cook. She had also enjoyed sailing with her husband where she learned to read navigational charts and served as first mate.

She had a warm kind personality and radiate smile that broadcasted her love for people, all people.

Besides her husband of more than 72 years Paul, Evelyn is survived by her children Wesley Wolfert and wife Carol of PA, Richard Wolfert and companion Barbara Gannon of Easton and daughter Diane Overwise and husband David of PA; grandchildren Stefphaine Wolfert, Matt Wolfert, Lisa Stepha, Eric Wolfert and Paul Overwise; great-grandchildren Austin , Morgan and Cash.

Preceding her in death besides her parents is a grandchild Karl Overwise.

Services will be private.
