FLORENCE E. ABBOTT

Florence E. Abbott, age 87, of Cambridge, MD, died
Tuesday afternoon, April 8, 2008 at Dorchester General Hospital, Cambridge, MD.

Born on April 21, 1920 at Caine’s Ditch, Dorchester County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Cleveland Elzey and Lennie Hurley Elzey.

She was the wife of the late Ernest Abbott.

For most of her working life, she was a waitress where she worked for twenty five years at Jones & Moore on Race St. and for ten years at The Recreation Center, Poplar St. She was the member of the Town Point Beagel Club. One of her greatest enjoyments was taking care of her family.

Surviving is a daughter Carolyn Tyler and her husband Bill of Cambridge, MD; two sons Ernest “Tubbie” Abbott and his wife Lori of East New Market, MD, Donald Abbott and his wife Kathy of Cambridge, MD; a sister Louise Wilson of Kings, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren Kim Bair and her husband Bill, Danny Insley, Greg Insley and his wife Carla, Nikkie Pool and her husband Stephen, Jeff Abbott and his wife Tracey, Dawn Vosburge and her husband Mike, Debbie Davis and her husband Michael, Chris Abbott and Steven Abbott; twelve great-grandchildren Brittany Binder, Collin Bair, Amanda Bair, Alexia Bair, Corbin Insley, Chloe Insley, Brandon Pool, Kelsey Abbott, Noah Abbott, Jake Vosburge, Shawn Vosburge and Jacob Hughes; nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11th at Dorchester Memorial Park. Officiating at the service will be The Rev. Mary Ann Farnell. Following the service there will be a reception at Friendship United Methodist Church Hall.
