GEORGE B. NABB, III
George B. Nabb, III, age 67, of Cambridge, MD, died early Wednesday morning, October 3, 2007 at Memorial Hospital, Easton, MD.
Born on March 25, 1940 in Cambridge, MD, he was the son of the late George B. Nabb, Jr. and Georgia Jeanette Fleming Nabb.
Mr. Nabb was a graduate and class president of Cambridge High School, Class of 1958.
George was a farmer for all of his working and able life on the family farm North Yarmouth Farm, a Century Maryland Farm.
George was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church at Aireys. He had been a member of the Dorchester Farm Bureau and the Cambridge Elks Lodge # 1272. He also had served for a short time in the Maryland Army National Guard.
George loved being a farmer and was certainly proud of his family’s farm. He has been in failing health for a few years following a farming accident. George also liked to rabbit hunt. George was well known for his good sense of humor and good spirit. He was a loving family member and a loyal friend.
George was also a Dorchester County School Bus Contractor.
Surviving besides his wife Joanne Wingate Nabb to whom he married on July 30, 1988 are three sons Bryan Nabb, Scott Nabb, David Nabb and his wife Wendy, seven grandchildren Bryan Nabb, Jr., Jenalee Nabb, Hunter Nabb, Andrea Bell, Carter Nabb, Andrew Nabb, and Maggie Jo Holecheck, a brother Carlton G. Nabb and his wife Mary all of Cambridge. He is also survived by nieces and a nephew Heather Nabb, Brandon Wingate and Meghan Wingate, mother-in-law Joan Wingate, two brothers-in-law Marshall Wingate, Steve Wingate and his wife Lisa, five aunts Charlotte Spedden, Jean Hurley, Louise Fleming, Shirley Fleming, Frances Wilson, an uncle James (Jimmy) Handley, close cousin Ramona Bradway, special caregivers Linda Seward, Katie Rhea, Chrissy Cantville, Chris Phippin, Wayne Brohawn, several cousins and friends.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was his father-in-law William I. (Bill) Wingate, four aunts Elizabeth Nabb, Betty Anne Handley, Sara Asmussen and Emily Dayton, five uncles Ridgeway Fleming, Edward (Bill) Fleming, John Nabb, Donald Spedden and Melvin Hurley.
The family will receive friends from Noon to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6th at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., where the memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Officiating at the service will be The Rev. Mary Ann Farnell assisted by The Rev. Delmer Willey. Inurnment will be held privately.
