George Edward “Ed” Susa Jr. died at home in Cambridge, MD on December 21, 2023 after an apparent heart attack. He is survived by his loving wife, Anne Pinkerton Susa, whom he married in Oahu, Hawaii on February 26, 2015.
Ed was born in Washington, DC and grew up in the Bowie, MD area. He graduated from Gaithersburg High School in 1975. His career as a businessman was highlighted by the success of his company, Custom Courier Systems, Inc., which he ran for years and sold in 2019 when he retired…to the water, which he loved.
An avid fisherman, Ed had served as President of the Frederick Chapter 22 of the former Maryland Saltwater Sport fishermen’s Association, Inc. (MSSA) for years and was also a board member of the main association, and was later a board member of the Frederick Saltwater Anglers (FSA) and an active member at the time of his passing. He also belonged to the Neck District Volunteer Fire Company helping with fundraisers and community support. He was a great friend to many and enjoyed taking folks out crabbing and fishing on the bay when they would come to visit.
Ed was preceded in death by his mother Betty Frances Susa, his father George Edward Susa, Sr., and his stepmother Sharon Marie Susa. In addition to Anne, he leaves behind his brother Danny Lee Ramsey, Aunt Mary A. Arnold (Tootie), Aunt Jean Gmutza, his stepsons Conor (Alyssa) O’Kane, Patrick O’Kane, and his extended family which includes his many cherished friends.

A visitation with family will begin an hour prior to the service. Reception will follow the service at Neck District Firehouse, 954 Cook Point Rd, Cambridge, MD.
