Glenda Veronica Presley, age 70, of Cambridge, MD, died early Tuesday morning, October 14, 2008.
Born on March 24, 1938 in Chester, England, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Aloysius Maddocks and Hannah May Roberts Maddocks.
In February of 1959 she moved to Cambridge, MD.
Mrs. Presley retired after thirty one years of employment from the Eastern Shore Hospital Center as a nurses aid.
On May 21, 1976 she married Daniel Billy Presley, Sr.
Following retirement, Mrs. Presley became a Nanny and helped to raise Noah, Brodey and Lucy.
Mrs. Presley was a member of the Talbot Evangelistic Church, Trappe, MD.
Her hobbies included catching crabs, boating and the beach. Mrs. Presley was known for her caring, kindness, love for children and animals and cooking. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Mrs. Presley always enjoyed her children’s friends stopping in at their house, which was commonly referred to as Presley’s Do Drop Inn.
Surviving besides her husband of 32 years, Daniel Billy Presley, Sr. of Cambridge, MD; are three daughters Kim Travers Godfrey and her husband Bubba of Virginia Beach, VA, Carolyn Mitchell and her husband Henry of Port Marmouth, NJ, Lisa Coleman and her husband Andy of Easton, MD; three step-sons Daniel Billy Presley, Jr. and his wife Tammie of Federalsburg, MD, Marty Presley and his wife Toni of Frankford, DE, Eric Presley and his wife Kim of Secretary, MD; a brother Russell Maddocks and his wife Moe of Shrewsbury, England; a brother-in-law Les Arrowsmith also of Shrewsbury, England; sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews residing in England and Ireland and dear friend Elizabeth Travers of Cambridge, MD.
Preceding her in death besides her parents was her sister Pamela May Arrowsmith.
Mrs. Presley was cremated. A Celebration of Life, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17th at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., where the family will receive friends two hours before the service. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Derwin B. Lowe. Inurnment will be held privately at a later date.
