Harold "Billy" Dawson Jr., 69, of Cambridge passed away quietly on January 30, 2016 at Mallard Bay Care Center, Cambridge.
Billy was born July 30, 1946 in Cambridge, MD to Harold "Bill" Dawson and Ida Pauline Dawson (n e Nave). During his early years, Billy lived on a farm in Harmony, MD before moving to South Dorchester County where he attended schools. As an adult, Billy worked as a Chesapeake Bay waterman and seafood distributor.
He is survived by two sons from his first marriage, Gordon "Gordy" Dawson (Janet) and Steven "Steve" Dawson; his sister Sheila Nimmerrichter (n e Dawson) (Larry), grandchildren Tyler Todd, Gordon "GJ" Dawson, Jr., Kyle Dawson, Abbigail Tyler; a great-grandson, Ian Dawson, a loving partner Casey Stevens and many nieces and nephews. Children he loved and raised as his own include Angela Tanner, William, Brad and John Lednum.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Patrick and daughter Billy Jo Adkins.
Service will be held Monday, February 8 at 1pm at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service. Officiating will be Rev. Dave Wooten, Jr. A repast will immediately follow.
