Biography
Helen Margaret Pennypacker Wlajnitz, age 84, of Cambridge, MD, died Saturday, Christmas morning, December 25, 2010 at Mallard Bay Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Cambridge, MD.
Born on February 1, 1926 in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Charles Pennypacker and Margaret Helen Dillaplane Pennypacker.
On March 31, 1945 she married Jacob Wlajnitz. He died on February 29, 1996.
In 1975 she and her husband moved from Bechtelsville, PA to Fishing Creek, MD and later moved to Cambridge, MD. While living at Fishing Creek, she had worked at various seafood businesses picking crabs.
Mrs. Wlajnitz was a seamstress and her hobbies included sewing, needlework, crocheting, painting and various crafts.
Mrs. Wlajnitz enjoyed her visits at the Delmarva Community Services and Pleasant Day Medical Adult Day Care.
Surviving are three children Jacob Lewis Wlajnitz and his wife Martha of Manchester, NH, Charles Henry Wlajnitz and his wife Barbara of Baltimore, MD, Mark David Wlajnitz and his wife Mary of Virginia Beach, VA.; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her pet cat Missy. Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were all of her siblings as well as her dog Lady.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29th at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at The Maryland Veterans Cemetery.
Memorial offerings may be made in Mrs. Wlajnitz’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
