James “Jim” R. Gorski, 83, of East New Market, Maryland passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at UMSMC at Easton with his family by his side.
Born on May 21, 1934 in Cambridge, Maryland he was a son of the late Tillie Tobat Gorski and Teleswood “Taylor” Gorski.
Jim attended the local schools and graduated from East New Market High School with the Class of 1952. In 1956 Jim enlisted in the U.S. Army. While serving his country he was stationed in Germany for two years with the rank of Sp4 (E4).
After serving he enjoyed reunions with the 503rd Military Police Unit. Most of Jim’s working career was being self-employed as a ceramic tile contractor. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Secretary. Jim was always ready to talk about politics and was happy if he could get others to agree with him about the troubles in the world. He was very proud of his family and loved bragging on them, especially his grandchildren. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.
Surviving him is his wife Linda Gorski; children Brad Gorski and wife Gretchen of Marietta, GA, Beth Laramore of Hurlock, MD and Jason Gorski and wife Heather of Stevensville, MD; grandchildren Kellee Browning, Kristin Gorski, Paige Gorski, Kadie Laramore, Madison Gorski and Chance Gorski; great grandson Kole Browning; sister Irene G. Blake of East New Market, MD; brothers Ted Gorski and wife Ann of Rhodesdale, MD, John Gorski and wife Donna of East New Market and Joe Gorski and wife Barbara of East New Market, MD and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Secretary beginning 2 p.m. with Rev. David Kreek officiating.
A visitation with family will be held from 1:00-2:00p.m. at the church. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Jim can be sent to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 70, Secretary, MD 21664.
