James Jeffrey Munford, Jr., age 30, of Cambridge, MD, was killed Tuesday night, May 4, 2010 in Dover, DE.
Born on July 22, 1979 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of James Jeffrey Munford, Sr. of Philadelphia, PA and Juanita Robinson Creekmore of Carrboro, NC. and step-son of Octavis Creekmore of Carrboro, NC.
Mr. Munford enjoyed being with his children and setting high goals for them in everyday life. He enjoyed basketball, swimming and being a team player.
Mr. Munford was a graduate of Cambridge South Dorchester High School, Class of 1997. His favorite quotes and testament of his life were “Short time goals need initiative and faith will be won”, “Desire the work and worth you want in life” and “You are the music of your faith and Captain of your soul”.
Surviving are five children Sophia Munford of Philadelphia, PA, Jamaija E. Munford of Cambridge, MD, Semaj Munford of North Carolina, Heaven Munford of North Carolina, James Jeffrey Munford III of Salisbury, MD; four sisters Alicia Nicole Munford of Cambridge, MD, Eisha Munford, Janya Munford, Jamie Munford and David Munford, all of Philadelphia, PA; step-brother Cedrick Octavis Stanley of Cambridge, MD; step-sister Shon Stanley of also of Cambridge, MD; a nephew Anthony Turner III; a host of family and friends from Philadelphia to North Carolina.
Preceding him in death was his maternal grandparents Sophia Lee Carter and Howard Robinson; paternal grandparents Lillian Munford and James Lake; and a sister Letha Diana Munford.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 8th at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., where the family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Rosalind Colson, Deacon Robert Colson and Minister Sheena Edmonds. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Cambridge, MD.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
