Jean Shorrock Day, 95, of Trappe, Maryland passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at her home with her daughter by her side.
Born in Lancashire, England on September 9, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Eva Broughton and Tom Shorrock.
She attended the local schools and graduated from high school in England.
Jean was a professional ballet dancer and performed for the troops during WWII. This is where she met her first husband, Fletcher Hanks, Jr. They were married in India.
Later in years she met and married Alan Day.
Jean was a talented artist and singer. She was involved with the Easton Players, Habitat for Humanity and was a yoga instructor. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and needle point.
Surviving Jean are her daughters Michal Hanks Reia, Daphne Hanks deGuerre and Lisa Hanks Day; sons, David Shorrock Hanks and Fletcher Hanks, III; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
