John A. Mowbray, 55, of Rhodesdale passed away Wednesday morning, July 22, 2015 at PRMC, Salisbury after a sudden illness.
Born in Cambridge on January 15, 1960 he was a son of the late Elizabeth Odelia Willey Mowbray and Harry Hooper Mowbray. He attended the local schools and graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School.
John was very talented with his hands and loved being outdoors. He was an excellent carpenter and for most of his life was self-employed. John enjoyed crabbing, loved to sit outside on his porch and watch the sun sets. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving is his daughter Ashley Mowbray; companion Sue; three sisters Wanda Murphy, Brenda Busta, Sharon Jones; a brother Steve Mowbray; grandson Mason Gullion; two brother in laws; many nieces and nephews; special friends Jim and Irene Harper.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2015 beginning 1:00 p.m. at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service. Officiating will be Pastor Steve Bloodsworth.
Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Mowbray, Steve Mowbray, Jr., Carli Shockley, Wayne Taylor, Josh McGrath, Russell Moore, Thomas Gullion and Levaughn Rodriguez.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of John should be made to Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, 308 High Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral costs.
