Jonathan “John” Michael Whitby, 36, of Denton, MD passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 at his home.

Born on June 2, 1980 in Easton, MD, he was a son of Michael Ozman and Lisa Whitby Rash.

He attended the local schools and after graduating became interested in construction. He was employed by Scully Masonary LLC as a mason for several years.

John was a follower of the Green Bay Packers football team and in his eyes they were the only team to root for. He loved to grill, build bonfires and drink beer. John always ended up being the life of the party. His favorite saying was “Nobody was a friend, only family”. He was always there for his family and friends. John would give the shirt off his back to them, even if he was upset with them, it didn’t matter.

Surviving him besides his parents are five children whom he dearly loved, Nicholas, Brandon, Kirsten, Zoe and Kinsley Whitby; two sisters Cassandra Whitby and Amber Stafford; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., 308 High St., Cambridge, MD beginning 5 p.m. with a visitation an hour prior to the service. Officiating will be Pastor Abe Lankford.
