Karen Denise Wallace, 60, of Church Creek passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Waesche.
Born June 10, 1954 in Baltimore, she is a daughter of Barbara Lee Danko and the late Robert F. Wallace. She attended schools in Baltimore County, graduating in 1972. In April, 2014, she was recognized by the National Society of Collegiate Scholars for commitment to the ideals of Scholarship, Leadership and Service. She was an accountant for firms in Texas, Georgia, Tennessee and Baltimore including family businesses. Karen liked to travel and was always up for adventure. She loved the water and sunshine. Children and animals were drawn to Karen’s warm smile. She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting and drawing. Karen had been residing in Dorchester County for six years.
Surviving is her mother Barbara Lee Danko; sisters Barbara J. Wallace of Church Creek, MD; Deborah and husband David Naill of Mt. Airy, MD; brothers Robert Wallace of Church Creek, MD and Raymond and wife Nancy Wallace of Eldersburg, MD.; two nieces and four nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Church Creek on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 12:00 noon. Rev. William Lawler, Pastor and Rev. Bruce Byrolly will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
