Kathryn Hubbard, a loving mother, cherished friend, and devoted community member, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, in Indian Shores, Florida, at the age of 75. Born on January 11, 1950, in Sistersville, West Virginia, Kathryn lived a life enriched by her passions, family, and a profound commitment to helping others.

A proud graduate of West Virginia University, Kathryn earned her degree in speech and hearing pathology before embarking on a beautiful journey with her husband, George W Hubbard. They married in 1970 and together owned and operated Hubbard’s Pharmacy in Cambridge, where their dedication to the community shone brightly from 1983 to 2009. Their legacy of care and service extended far beyond the pharmacy, as Kathryn’s heart was deeply rooted in her community.

Throughout her life, Kathryn engaged in various enriching activities, volunteering for youth sports teams and later dedicating her time at Pleasant Day Adult Daycare, where she served on the board. Her commitment to fostering connections extended to the Indian Shores Library, where she shared her love for reading and learning. After retiring, Kathryn found immense joy in living near the water, where her fascination with nature, particularly the graceful osprey, flourished. She relished the moments spent with friends, both old and new, embraced travel adventures, and cherished her family.

In her final days, Kathryn’s spirit remained vibrant and full of life. While under hospice care, she expressed a heartfelt desire to bring together her various groups of friends in Florida for a celebration of life party, allowing them to meet and share cherished memories. In a testament to the love she cultivated, the event was organized in just 24 hours, with local restaurants generously donating food. More than 50 friends came together to honor her life, creating a meaningful farewell filled with stories, laughter, and affection.

Kathryn is survived by her beloved sons, Jeremiah Hubbard, PhD, and Joshua Hubbard, along with his wife, Jungwon (Janet) Hubbard, PhD. She will also be deeply missed by her cherished grandson, Jonathan Hubbard, as well as her dear cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceding her in death are her loving parents, Bob and Ruby Henderson, her brother Harry G Henderson, her sister Rebecca (Henderson) Lauer, and her devoted husband, George W Hubbard.

Kathryn leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and service, touching the lives of everyone she encountered. Her warmth, compassion, and zest for life will forever be remembered, and her spirit will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
