Katie Christopher

Katie Michelle Christopher, 31, of Aurora, Colorado formerly of Preston, Maryland passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021, in Aurora.

Born on June 3, 1990, in Easton, Maryland, she was the daughter of Bonnie (Lahman) Johnson and the late Claude “Rusty” Christopher, II.

Katie attended Preston Elementary and graduated from Colonel Richardson High School with the Class of 2008.  She attended Pickens Technical College and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree as a Respiratory Therapist.  She was employed at Children’s Hospital Colorado for five years and was attending Western Governor’s University to achieve her bachelor’s degree for Science Business Administration.

She enjoyed spending time with her friends, cooking and loved all types of animals, especially her bulldog Loki.  Katie will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Katie is survived by her mother Bonnie Johnson and her husband Dennis; brother, Jared Lahman, and nephew Kalan Lahman (fiancé Brittany Anderson and her son Kyler); niece Riley Christopher; a very special dad Merrill E. Lahman (JR); boyfriend John Lucas and children Miles, Mia, and Dylan; Aunt Deborah Wilson; Uncle Jimmy Cheezum; best friends of 25 years Whittney Sherwood and Kristen Kraus; several cousins and a host of other friends.

Preceding her in death along with her father was her brother Jason Christopher and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Katie’s love was true and meaningful, when she smiled her entire face smiled and it was contagious. She was truly one of a kind.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Preston Volunteer Fire Company, 3680 Choptank Road, Preston, MD  21655, beginning 1:00 p.m.  Rev.  Nevin Crouse will officiate.
