Leroy L. Condon
Leroy Louis Condon, age 84, of Trappe, MD died Thursday morning, October 6, 2011 at Talbot Hospice House, Easton, MD.
Born on July 29, 1927 in Cambridge, MD he was the son of the late Delmas Davidson and Sarah Catherine Condon Warfield.
At age 17 he enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II from May 12, 1945 to July 28, 1948 after being honorably discharged. He served aboard the USS Midway as a seaman and gunner. He was very proud to be a plank owner and was awarded the American Area Victory World War II Medal.
After returning home he worked cutting timber. In 1977 he moved to Trappe, MD and was a self employed truck driver retiring in 1983.
Mr. Condon enjoyed attending auctions, shooting pool and playing checkers.
He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
Surviving is a son Ricky L. Condon; a grandson Lucas Joel Condon, both of Trappe, MD; step-son Steve Dutamore of Hawaii; former wife Connie Condon of Cambridge, MD; and special friends Dicky Lowery and Dave Anderson, among other friends.
A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge, on Tuesday, October 11th. A Graveside service will follow the same day at 2:00 p.m. at East New Market Cemetery.
