Born at the “Straight Shore Farm” in East New Market on December 21, 1924, Lillian was one of eight children born to the late John Joseph Juras and Apolonia “Lena” Tobat Juras. She grew up in a loving family that valued education and hard work, values that Lillian carried with her throughout her life.
Lillian graduated from East New Market High School, and her passion for caring for others led her to attend nursing school, ultimately becoming a registered nurse. With her dedication to the field, she obtained a Master’s Degree and went on to share her knowledge and experience as a teacher for nursing students at the University of Delaware. Lillian loved her work as a nurse, recognizing the profound impact she could have on the lives of others, and she took immense pride in mentoring the next generation of caregivers.
A devout member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church Parish in Wilmington, Lillian's faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and strengthening her resolve to support those in need.
Lillian is survived by her two nieces, Barbara Rumbley and Rosemary Robbins; her two nephews, Dominic Tacchetti and Timothy Tacchetti; and many cousins. These cherished family members will remember her fondly, honoring her legacy of compassion and dedication.
