Lois Ann Henry, age 69, of Linkwood, MD, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at her home.
Born on September 22, 1940 in Cambridge, MD, she was the daughter of the late Lois Murphy and Dora Pritchett Murphy.
On October 12, 1962, she married Alva Lee Henry. He died on September 25, 1996.
Mrs. Henry was a member of the Veterans Recognition Committee and a forty-eight year member of the Linkwood Salem Volunteer Fire Company. She was a two time recipient of the Female Volunteer Award, 1992 and again in 2007. She also was awarded the Meritorious Service award in 1999.
Mrs. Henry was a registered nurse for 33 years employed by the Eastern Shore State Hospital, Cambridge, MD where she retired in 1992.
Surviving are three children Robert Lee Henry and his wife Kim of Laurel, DE, Alan Scott Henry and his wife Stephanie of East New Market, MD, Michael Gene Henry and his wife Melissa of East New Market, MD; a brother Allan Vincent Murphy of Fowlerville, MI; eight grandchildren Taylor Scott Henry, Lauren Ashley Henry, Kaitlyn Marie Henry, Alaina Catherine Henry, Tori Leigh Henry, John Michael Henry, Trey Robert Henry, Ryan Everett Henry; a niece Samantha Irene Evens; an aunt Lorraine Phillips; uncle Edward Pritchett; and a godchild Kara Phippin.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were several aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, April 16th at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, April 17th at the funeral home. Officiating at the service will be The Rev. David L. Kreek. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Tink Collins, John Lewis, Keith Adkins, Jerry Willey, Randy Lewis and Gary Shockley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Robinson and members of the Linkwood-Salem Volunteer Fire Company.
