M. LORETTA ELZEY
Mildred Loretta Elzey, age 74, of Cambridge, MD, died Friday afternoon, January 16, 2009 at Dorchester General Hospital, Cambridge, MD.
Born on May 1, 1934 in Cambridge MD, she was the daughter of the late Norman Warfield and Leona Hubbard Warfield.
She was raised in the Hudson area of Dorchester County and had attended Cambridge High School.
On May 19, 1951 she married William T. “ Buck” Elzey. He died on April 28, 2003.
Loretta, as she was known, devoted her life to raising her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed her Saturday beauty parlor visits and being with her friends. Loretta so much enjoyed Sunday’s too for a full day of shopping with her daughter and granddaughter. Loretta was an avid Baltimore Oriole baseball fan.
Surviving are three daughters Judy Ann Bramble and her husband Glenn of Cambridge, MD, Donna S. Adams of Linkwood, MD, Deborah Lynn Brooke and her husband Timothy of East New Market, MD; four brothers Leroy Warfield, Raymond Warfield, Alvin Warfield, Paul Warfield; two sisters Margaret Warfield and Rachel Cannon; five grandchildren Amanda Nicole Bramble, Matthew Thomas Bramble, Stacy Allison Adams, Benjamin Lane Brooke and Alexander Deane Brooke; many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband was a sister Blanche Sanger; a brother Delmas Warfield; and a granddaughter Tina Michelle Bramble.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 19th at 1:00 p.m. at the Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, Cambridge, MD where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Officiating at the service will be The Rev. David Kreek. Burial will follow at East New Market Cemetery, East New Market, MD.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made by making memorial offerings in Mrs. Elzey’s memory to The Lung Assosication, 209 East Market St., Salisbury, MD 21801-4948 or to the Arthritis Foundation, 714 B & A Boulevard, Severna Park, MD 21146.
