Mabel L. Collins, Age 75, of Easton, MD, died early Tuesday morning, September 14, 2010, at William Hill Manor, Easton, MD.
Born on April 16, 1935, in Abingdon, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Maj. Carl E. Collins, Sr. and Grace Taylor Collins. She lived most of her life in Abingdon where she worked as a phone operator and was certified as a nurse’s aide. Ms. Collins enjoyed pencil and ink drawing, dancing and traveling.
Upon her father’s death, Ms. Collins retired to Clearlake Oaks, CA, to help care for her mother and sister.
In September 2007, she moved to Centreville, MD to reside with her surviving brother, Carl, and his wife, Christine. In addition to her brother and sister-in-law, Ms. Collins is survived by her niece, Catherine Izzi, husband Gregory Izzi and great-nephew, Tony Izzi; her nephew, Brian Collins, wife Vikki and great-niece, Deborah Collins.
Ms. Collins was cremated, and her family will have a private service at a later time.
Ms. Collins’ family would like to thank and acknowledge the wonderful caregivers of William Hill Manor, especially at the Azalea Unit, for their dedicated and loving care. We have been truly blessed by them.
