Marvin E. Greene, 72, of Crisfield, formally of Cambridge, passed away Monday, December 28, 2015 at St. Agnes Hospital, Baltimore.
Born December 15, 1943 in Cambridge, he was a son of the late George (Hank) E. Greene and Hilda McClain Greene Robinson. He attended the local schools and graduated from Cambridge High School with the Class of 61.
Marvin made his career helping others. He worked as a Paramedic for the City of Pocomoke for 24 years and as a Registered Nurse for 10 years. He was a member of several organizations including the Masons, Shriner’s and Tall Cedars. Taking children to and from the Shriner’s Hospital was something he greatly enjoyed and could always be counted on to help.
Surviving is his wife Shirley Evans Greene; sons Will Greene of Cambridge, Mike Greene of Delaware; grandchildren Dustin Edger of Cambridge, Allen Edger of East New Market and Michael Heath Greene of Kentucky; great grandchild Ava Edger.
Also surviving is a brother Charles (Hank) A. Greene and wife Bonnie of Blades, DE; sister Joyce Newcomb and husband Jim of Cambridge; half brothers George E. Greene of Alabama, Charles E. Greene of Missouri, John Greene of Alabama; half sisters Jane Cannon, Irita Adcock and Norma Action all of Alabama along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his parents is a sister Julia A. Greene Willey.
A memorial service for family and invited friends will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 beginning 2:00 p.m. at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., 308 High Street, Cambridge. Officiating is Pastor Dave Stewart.
