Norma Virginia Fisher Coleman, age 77, of Ocean Pines, MD, died Wednesday night, April 30, 2008 at Wicomico Nursing Home, Salisbury, MD.

Born on October 14, 1930 in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. Fisher and Minnie Rowe Fisher. She was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, Cumberland, MD, Class of 1948.

On December 26, 1949 she married The Rev. M. Brent Coleman.

For many years she was a kindergarten teacher for Sunny Day Christian Pre-School, Cambridge, MD while her husband was Pastor of First Baptist Church, Cambridge, MD.

Mrs. Coleman was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crofton, MD. Mrs. Coleman held various teaching positions in Sunday School of the Church and sang in the choir.

Her hobbies included oil painting and cross stitching. She was also an avid reader.

Surviving besides her husband of 58 years, The Rev. M. Brent Coleman of Ocean Pines, MD, are three children Jeffrey Brent Coleman and his wife Wanda of Denver, CO, Dr. David Keith Coleman of Boston, MASS, Brenda Trice and her husband Steve, of Ocean Pines, MD; eight grandchildren Erin Coleman, Conor Coleman, Elizabeth Coleman, Skip Coleman, Sebastian Trice, Stephen Trice, Corey Trice and Joshua Trice; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death besides her parents were three brothers Charles Maynard Fisher, William Fisher and Earl Lee Fisher.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A. on Sunday evening, May 4th. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 5th at First Baptist Church of Crofton, MD, 1690 Crofton Parkway, Crofton, MD, where the family will also receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Officiating at the service will be The Rev. Robert Parsley, Pastor. Following a luncheon at the Church, the burial will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 10901 Mason Rd. NE, Cumberland, MD. Conducting the committal service will be The Rev. Steve Trice, the deceased’s son-in-law.

Pallbearers will be Ed Griffith, Larry Hackley, Larry Tyree, Richard Vaughn, Robert Fouts and Harry Diehl.

In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made in Mrs. Coleman’s memory to Alzheimer’s Association, 209 Milford St. #C, Salisbury, MD 21804.
