Rachel Lelia Marine Kozlowski, age 96, of Cambridge, MD died Friday night, September 3, 2010 at her home.
Born on March 7, 1914 in Finchville, MD, near Reliance, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Sallie A. Webster Marine. Rachel was educated in the North Dorchester public schools and a graduate of Hurlock High School, Class of 1933.
She moved to Cambridge in 1941. For thirty three years she was employed as a nurse for Cambridge Hospital, now Dorchester General Hospital.
On February 14, 1981 she married Frank Kozlowski. He died on August 18, 1982.
Rachel was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Baraca Class of the Church, American Legion Auxiliary Post #91, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 7460 and the Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving is a sister Mary Bauer of Union City, PA; a sister-in-law Elizabeth Marine of Rhodesdale, MD; one niece; two nephews; cousins and her late husband's family members all from out of state.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were two brothers Elmer Marine, Jr. and Webster Marine.
Rachel donated her body to science to benefit medical research. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 17th at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A. Officiating at the service will be The Rev. Jay Hurley, Pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, Cambridge. Inurnment will follow at a later date in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Memorial offerings may be made to the charity of one's choice.
