REITA T. POWLEY

Reita T. Powley, age 95, of Toddville, MD, died at home Thursday, October 18, 2007.

Born in the same home which she died in Toddville, MD, on December 29, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Darius G. Todd and Lydia Meredith Todd. She was a graduate of Crapo High School.

On June 12, 1937 she married (Bill) Edgar T. Powley. He died on January 21, 1987.

Mrs. Powley was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, Toddville.

Her hobbies included gardening, reading and needlework.

For many years she had worked at Grants, Carton’s and Leggett’s Department Stores in Cambridge.

Surviving are two sisters, Edna Windsor and Emma Powley both of Toddville, MD, a brother Omar W. Todd and his wife June of Ocean City, MD, nieces and nephews Carlye Windsor and his wife Shirley of Trappe, MD, Judy Martin and her husband Bill of Sioux Falls, SD, Pastor Gary Crouch and his wife Madeline of Toddville, MD, Mary Price and her husband Tim of Berlin, MD, Martha Fernan and her husband Michael of Ocean Pines, MD, David Todd of Powellville, MD, great-nieces and great-nephews Clint Martin and his wife Tammy, Stuart Martin and his wife Buffy, Laura Slowey and her husband Daniel, Mead Windsor, Todd Windsor, Mallorie Crouch, Colin Crouch and his wife Kristen, Michaelle Berthoin and her husband Claude, Claudia Berthoin, Christopher Price, Matthew Price, Jonathan Price, Zachary Fernan, Joshua Fernan, Haley Todd, Jeffrey Todd, a sister-in-law Roberta Powley Jones of Cambridge, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Reginald and Etta Lee Powley of Wingate, MD.

Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband was a sister and brother-in-law Wyona Todd Mills and Hobart Mills, a brother and sister-in-law D. Carroll and Gloria Todd, a great-nephew John Windsor, a great-niece Donna Crouch, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Carlton M. Windsor, Ogle Jones, Elizabeth and Paul Ritter, Mary Ann and Monroe Crandell, Ruby and Marcie Bloodsworth, Linwood and Mary Lee Powley, Carlton and Brooksie Powley, Frederick Powley, Watson and Frances Powley, Tommie and Carrie Powley.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 22nd at 1:00 p.m. at the Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Gary Crouch, Mrs. Powley’s nephew, and Rev. David Kreek, Pastor of St. Thomas United Methodist Charge. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park, Cambridge, MD.

Pallbearers will be Carlye Windsor, Colin Crouch, David Todd, Todd Windsor, Hubert Trego and William “Bill” Walker.
