Robert “Bob” Charles Walls, 72, of East New Market, Maryland passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday morning, September 15, 2024.
Born in Easton, Maryland on January 24, 1952 he was the son of the late Charles M. Walls and Virginia W. Walls.
Bob attended the local schools in Seaford, Delaware and graduated from Seaford High School with the class of 1970. He then went on and attended Salisbury State College and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree. He also attended Del-Tech and received a degree in applied science. Bob joined the Cambridge Police Department and worked 29 years on the force before retiring. He then went on and worked security at the Super Fresh grocery store and then 8 years as Court Commissioner for Dorchester County.
On October 1, 1977 Bob married the former Cindy Lewis and together raised 3 sons. They made their home in the Secretary/East New Market area.
He was a member of the FOP Lodge 27, Cambridge Elks Lodge, Cambridge Masonic Lodge #66 and Forensic I&I.
Bob enjoyed watching and rooting for the Ravens and the Orioles. He liked going to auctions to see what kind of deal he could get. Bob will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving him is his wife Cindy of East New Market, MD; sons Jason Walls of Secretary, MD, Chris Walls and wife Jessica of Delmar, DE and Charles “Chase” Walls and his wife Heather of Seaford, DE; grandchildren Alissa McKenzie, Brooke Walls, Robert “Gannon” Walls, Lillian Walls, Kellen Brandon Walls, Adalyn Walls and Robert Lewis Walls; a special friend Lesley Blizzard; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death beside his parents was a brother Donald Walls.
A funeral service will be held at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, Cambridge, MD on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 beginning 12:00 noon with Pastor Steve Bloodsworth officiating. A viewing will be held two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A private family committal service will follow at the Ridgely Cemetery with interment.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Lewis, John Lewis, Matthew Lewis, Brad Dickinson, Tyler Lewis and Steve Wolf.
Honorary pallbearers will be Butch Hurley and Dale Hurt.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob’s name can be sent to the Linkwood Salem Volunteer Fire Co., P.O. Box 66, Linkwood, MD 21835.
