RON “BEAVER” BLANN
Ronald Lee “Beaver” Blann, Jr., age 40, died suddenly Saturday, May 31, 2008 where he was pronounced dead at Dorchester General Hospital, Cambridge, MD.
Born on June 14, 1967 in Watertown, NY, he was the son of Ronald Lee Blann, Sr. of Cambridge, MD and the late Betty Lou Smith Blann.
Beaver graduated from Easton High School, Class of 1985.
On February 14, 2001 he married the former Lisa Faye Simmons of Golden Hill, Maryland.
Beaver was a member of the Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cambridge.
As a driver, he had worked for McCords Dry Cleaning and also J.M. Clayton Seafood Company. He also worked for John Teider Electric and Philip Nichols Electric. Later he had worked for CamTech as an assembler.
Beaver’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, crabbing, football, working on cars and NASCAR.
He was a model father to his children.
Surviving besides his father and wife are three children Chloe Noel McKinney of Greensboro, MD, Brandon Michael Phillips of Claiborne, MD, Hunter Lee “Lil’ Beaver” Blann of Cambridge, MD; a brother Bryan Ray Blann and his wife Donna Hart-Blann of Madison, MD; foster sister Christina Yeatman of Easton, MD; maternal grandmother June Smith of Easton, MD; a niece Samantha Waters of Easton, MD; a nephew Dylan Charles Blann of Madison, MD. He is also survived by several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews on his wife’s family side.
Preceding him in death besides his mother was a brother Charles Anthony Blann; maternal grandfather Kenneth Smith; paternal grandparents Roland Arthur Blann and Anna Mildred Blann; and two nephews Chuck Ruark and C.J. Shenton on his wife’s side.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 8th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 9th at 11:00 a.m. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Ray M. Rogers. Burial will follow at Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, MD.
Pallbearers will be Fred Marine, Keith Gibson, Kim Gibson, Rob Eismann, Louie Grimes, Larry Stevens, Jared Martin and Rosco Harrison.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest making memorial donations to help offset the funeral expenses to Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., 308 High St., Cambridge, MD 21613.
