STEVEN H. ROBBINS
Steven Henry Robbins, age 61, of Cambridge, MD, died Friday, January 9, 2009 at Dorchester General Hospital. He had been in failing health for a number of years.
Born on March 16, 1947, he was the son of the late Jacob William Robbins of Cambridge and Rose Irene Kelley Robbins formerly of Secretary.
A Cambridge High School graduate, Class of 1965, he pursued his education at the University of Maryland majoring in electrical engineering. He opened and managed a television sales and repair store in Cambridge and later was employed by the State of Maryland as a computer “trouble-shooter” specialist for computer networks located throughout the Eastern Shore. He was also a licensed “ham” radio operator, enjoyed many outdoor activities, loved to travel and had a great appreciation for all types of music.
Steve was a true animal lover, particularly of dogs and had a special fondness for Dachshunds. He was a kind and caring soul and had a great sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by his many friends in the community.
Surviving is a brother William Douglas Robbins and his wife Lené of Cambridge, MD; four nieces Rose Marie Brohawn of Chestertown, MD, Christine Anne Hett of Moultrie, GA, Laurie Lee Woodward of Cambridge, MD and Abigail Lyn Norris of Greenville, FL; cousin Theodore “Butch” Robbins of Cambridge, MD; maternal aunts Marguerite Kelley and Gloria Foskey of Seaford, DE; several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mr. Robbins’ remains were cremated and the inurnment service will be private.
