Theresa Dawn Lankford Johnson, age 43, of Cambridge, MD, died Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Talbot Hospice House, Easton, MD.
Born on March 29, 1967 in Cambridge, MD, she was the daughter of the late Gorman Myles Lankford, Sr. and Ramona Abbott Lankford.
Theresa was raised in Church Creek, MD and was a graduate of Cambridge South Dorchester High School, Class of 1986.
Since 1986 she was the companion of Thomas R. “Tommy” Johnson, Jr. They were married on April 3, 1996.
Theresa had been employed for eleven years with B&G Foods, Hurlock, MD and most recently with the Dorchester County Board of Education as a cook in the Maces Lane Middle School cafeteria.
Theresa loved her family and was proud of them. She cherished every family gathering and moment with them.
She enjoyed camping, cooking, music, yard sales and flower gardening.
Surviving besides her husband Tommy Johnson are two sons Thomas R. Johnson, III and Tyler J. Johnson, all of Cambridge, MD; a brother Gorman Myles “Junior” Lankford, Jr. and his wife Wendy of Easton, MD; a sister Brenda Desmoines of Pennsylvania; a brother-in-law Larry Harrison and his wife Doris of East New Market, MD; a nephew Jeffery Lankford; two nieces Jami Robinson and Lori Lankford; two great-nieces Samantha Forbes and Mikayla Dill.
Preceding her in death besides her parents was her brother Jeffrey Lankford and mother-in-law Ruth Johnson.
Theresa’s final wish was cremation. Her family will hold a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13th at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1312 Race St., Cambridge, MD, led by Pastor Ray M. Rogers.
