Thomas O. Lantz, III, 65, of Cambridge, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at his home.
Born in Cambridge, Maryland on October 6, 1948, he was the son of Peggy L. Tall Wheatley and the late Thomas O. Lantz, Jr.
He attended local schools and graduated from Cambridge High School with the Class of 1966.
After working as Chief Deputy for the Talbot County Sheriff’s Department for many years, Tom made his career in the postal service and retired as a postmaster after 32 yrs. of service.
Tom was a member of the Cambridge Elks Lodge and enjoyed shooting pool with the guys. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and would often go on road trips with friends.
Surviving him besides his mother Peggy is a son Thomas "Tommy" Lantz, IV; a daughter Christy Lantz; his wife Carol Lantz; uncles, J. Donald Lantz and Harold Tall.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 beginning 12 noon at the Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge. Pastor George Wheatley will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Tom can be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
